For the past decade, it’s been our mission to help get more kids on bikes. Now, we want to help more kids enjoy cycling by having greater access to quality bikes globally, as well as making cycling more sustainable for future generations. We plan to accelerate our international growth, elevate our brand and transition to building our bikes with recycled aluminium.

Started by couple Jerry and Shelley Lawson in a spare room in their home back in 2013 Frog Bikes is now celebrating its 10th birthday!

Frog Bikes has grown massively over the past decade. The child-centred research-led design approach has earned Frog Bikes global accolades, industry awards and an award-winning factory. It has grown exponentially into a global success story with so many people genuinely loving Frog bikes!

Nick Smith, MP for Blaenau Gwent, Councilor Sue Edmunds, and Angharad Barret, Road Safety Officer at Blaenau Gwent Council were welcomed by Frog Bikes manufacturing for a tour of the multi-award-winning kids’ bike factory.

In celebration of our 9th birthday (yes we turned 9 on 14 February - we can’t quite believe it either!), we take a look back over the years and share 9 stories, 9 fun facts and some great testimonials as to why others think Frog bikes are great.

We are committed to sustainability in all aspects of our business, from the materials we use to make our premium kids’ bikes to the packaging that they are shipped in.  Some small changes can add up to making a big difference! We’re reducing our Co2 emissions by approximately 16 tonnes a year by implementing packaging alterations!

How do you find the right Frog bike sizes for your children?
We all remember receiving hand-me-down bikes that were usually too big and being told: “Don’t worry, you’ll grow into it.” This phrase is of little solace when your heart is in your mouth because you can barely see the floor let alone put your feet on it!

Finding a kids bike helmet can be challenging, there are more full face models on the market than previous years but they are still not as readily available as standard helmets. There are 3 main aspects to consider and these are SIZE, WEIGHT and SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS.

Frog Bikes has worked with independent scientific researchers to study the impact of Q factor (pedal spacing) on bikes for children. They were surprised to find that reducing the Q factor of a child's cycle decreases lateral forces by much more than for adults. i.e. it makes the bike significantly easier to pedal.
