8 Best Bike Helmets for Kids

As we all know, cycling is a fantastic activity for children, despite what the weather may have in store over the coming months. Whilst out and about, it is essential that we keep little ones protected and safe by investing in a quality children’s helmet.

It's hard to believe but there are currently no laws to stop the sale of helmets that are not safety tested. Always be sure to look for the British Standard Certificate - shown with a BS Kitemark in the UK and for European standards check for a CE mark. All of the children’s helmets in our list have been tested and conform to the basic British safety standards, so you can rest assured that they provide the protection your child needs when cycling.

With so many variations of children’s helmets to choose from, we’ve done the research for you, taking into consideration consumer reviews, materials used, designs and sizes available.

To establish the correct helmet size for your child, measure the circumference of their head at approximately 1cm above the ears, this should be the widest part of the head. It’s best to choose a helmet that is size adjustable so that as they grow the helmet can expand to fit, saving you money in the longer term.
