Frog Bikes: 35% reduction in emissions per bike
- 4 Jun 2025
Frog Bikes, a leading UK manufacturer of eco-friendly children’s bicycles, is proud to unveil its latest Impact Report, celebrating a year of bold action, breakthrough innovation, and continued commitment to producing sustainable kids’ bikes for a greener planet.. The report reveals major strides in reducing our environmental footprint while championing a brighter, more sustainable future for young cyclists everywhere.
Since establishing our sustainability baseline in 2019, Frog Bikes has achieved a 35% reduction in emissions per bike. This result reflects years of persistent effort in the pursuit of creating truly sustainable kids’ bikes, to reimagine every aspect of our operations, from materials and manufacturing to packaging and transport.
2024: A breakthrough year
This year marked a significant turning point. After several years of research and investment, Frog Bikes built its first bikes using post-consumer recycled aluminium. This milestone not only reduces emissions but also sets the stage for a future where circular materials play a key role in the production of every Frog bike.
Other major achievements in 2024 also include:
- 37% reduction in waste-related emissions
- Reduced plastic packaging throughout our supply chain
- New, smaller shipping boxes, reducing transport volume and emissions per bike
- Launch of two internal sustainability challenges
- Reduced business travel and improved EV charging infrastructure on-site
“These wins didn’t happen overnight,” said Shelley Lawson, Co-founder of Frog Bikes. "They reflect years of hard work, driven by our sense of responsibility to future generations. We want today's young riders to grow up enjoying a lifetime of active travel, in a healthy, stable climate."
Cycling: Part of the climate solution
As the climate crisis intensifies, Frog Bikes remains driven by a powerful mission: to get more children cycling, more often. Encouraging cycling from a young age builds habits for life, helping to offset car emissions and contributing to healthier communities.
“We believe bikes are part of the solution, not just in how they're made, but in how they're used,” said Shelley. “That’s why we’re growing our reach and sharing what we learn, hoping to inspire other manufacturers to take similar steps.”
Frog Bikes continues to lead the way in green transport solutions for kids, proving that sustainable mobility can start from a young age, with one pedal at a time.
