Why we ride…

We all use cycling for different reasons, it could be a way to unwind, to enjoy the feeling of freedom or to experience the thrill of speed. Some of us prefer to ride slowly and take in the scenery and enjoy time alone, whereas others like to go fast and seek adventure. There are many reasons why people love to ride bikes, and many reasons why kids want to get in on the fun too. Aside from the fact that there are HUGE health benefits for kids, like improving overall physical fitness, learning development and mental health, it’s such a fun activity!!

So, we asked some of our ambassadors what makes them want to ride…

NAME: Aria
AGE: 10 years old
AGE LEARNED TO RIDE: I learned to ride a bike when I was 5 years old.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE? I ride at least three times a week.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE RIDING? I really like riding my bike to and from school, at parks, to go exploring and racing.
HOW DOES RIDING MAKE YOU FEEL? Excited and happy.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RIDING? I love riding to new places and having fun outdoors with my family.
BENEFITS OF RIDING A BIKE? Cycling is really good exercise and you get to spend time outside.


NAME: Matys
AGE: 8 years old
AGE LEARNED TO RIDE: I learned to ride when I was just 2.5 years old.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE? I ride once or twice a week.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE RIDING? I like riding my bike at MTB trails, pump tracks, bike parks, exploring the local area and other places and bike packing.
HOW DOES RIDING MAKE YOU FEEL? Like a mini rider!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RIDING? I love riding for the speed, cross country, bumps, adventure, nature and just the pleasure of riding.
BENEFITS OF RIDING A BIKE? To have fun, play sports and enjoy and learn from nature.


NAME: Mia
AGE: 5 years old
AGE LEARNED TO RIDE: I learned to ride a bike at 3 years old.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE? I ride at least once a week in the winter months, at least twice a week during warmer (and lighter) months.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE RIDING? I like riding at parks and around my local area. I also like exploring new places and taking my bike to pump tracks and MTB trails.
HOW DOES RIDING MAKE YOU FEEL? Happy. I like standing up as it makes me really tall.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RIDING? I love exploring the paths, and it’s exciting to visit places I haven't been to before.
BENEFITS OF RIDING A BIKE? Makes me braver because I try new things that might scare me. But then I am happy when I learn new things.


NAME:Oliver
AGE: 3 years old
AGE LEARNED TO RIDE: I learned to ride when I was 2 years old.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE? At least once a week.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE RIDING? I like cycling around parks and pump tracks and exploring!
HOW DOES RIDING MAKE YOU FEEL? Makes me feel nice. It's nice to play on my bike
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RIDING? love zooming and going fast. Seeing animals whilst riding.
BENEFITS OF RIDING A BIKE? Getting fresh air and discovering new places and I get to see more when riding than when walking.


NAME:Jessica
AGE: 11 years old
AGE LEARNED TO RIDE: I learned to ride when I was 6.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE? Most days.
WHERE DO YOU LIKE RIDING? I really like taking part in Cyclocross races, exploring MTB trails, riding at pump tracks and going to bike parks too.
HOW DOES RIDING MAKE YOU FEEL? Like I’m flying.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT RIDING? I love racing & jumping.
BENEFITS OF RIDING A BIKE? Fitness and skills.
