Introducing the 2020 Frog Squad!
Here at Frog Bikes we are very passionate, not just about making great bikes but making great bikes that kids want to ride. We are very aware that if you ignite a passion for cycling and the outdoors in a child then they will have this love throughout their life.
This year we have selected a group of fantastic young riders with the grit and determination that it takes to succeed in both sport and life and we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce them to you.
Throughout 2020 we will be showcasing their talents and tenacity individually on our social media channels and in future blog posts so this will definitely not be the last you will see of these young superstars!
The Young Guns
We definitely live by the motto Start 'em Young! With our Tadpole Mini being ridden by children aged 1 and up you can start riding at the same time you start walking with Frog! Our first group of Frog Ambassadors are smashing it on their Tadpoles and First Pedal bikes

I had my first balance bike at the age of 8 months. I knew how to ride that before I was walking! Freedom to ride outdoors in the skate parks, parks, hills and mountains I am hoping to take part in all of the races in the Kids Rider Bike Challenge championship and to have the title. I finished 2nd in 2019 but was not able to ride every single race I love the look, the lightness and the fact it's designed for little riders like me I love watching Fabio Wibmer's videos | L*E*O*N*A*R*D |
R*E*U*B*E*N | I was on my Balance bike when I was two and pedalling when I was only 3 (no stabilisers needed)! Going fast and rolling down ramps Yes, to ride a full lap of the National Cycling BMX track without any help It's bright red, which is my favourite colour, light and I like the safety steering lock! My Dad |
I started riding when I was two and I'll be four in a week I love the freedom and the adrenaline buzz Yes, I want to compete in 3 events including the Malvern Classic in August I love the colour (green) and the cool big wheels Dan Atherton | B*L*A*K*E |
The Development Team
The Ambassadors who ride our Hybrid bikes are on a mission to show us how to have fun! These fantastically versatile bikes can be ridden to victory at junior races or blasted around your local pump track for fun and these guys are here to show us how it's done!
Z*A*H*I*N*A | I started riding a pedal bike when I was 3 and a half years old I love going over ramps on my bike To race in the Castle Combe circuit this year I like the coloured spots on it! My cycling hero is my big brother Ibi and Lauren Booth |
I started to ride a Balance Bike at 1 year old and since then have not stopped being on 2 wheels I like rolling, rolling and rolling and the faster I go the more fun I have! Cycling is great for having fun and meeting friends I want to ride my bike for fun. Sometimes doing races makes me feel pressured so I want to focus on fun this year I love that it is so light and how it looks. It's perfect for me and very solid to ride I don't have one but my Mums is Raymond Poulidor! | W*I*L*S*O*N |
M*A*R*I*A | At 2 years old I love riding the pumptrack and riding through puddles This Year I want to participate (and I'd love to win) in some races and learn how to do a “bunny-hop It's my favourite colour! My Dad |
The Kings (and Queen) of the Road
When it comes to grit, determination and a fire in their bellies to drive them faster these guys have it all! We were hoping to find a group of Frog Squadders who can really put our Road bikes through their paces and we were not disappointed.
J*E*S*S | When I was 3 years old I love racing on my Frog Bike I hope to win the CX and MTB regional champs again this year I love training and winning races on my bike Jolanda Neff |
I was 4 but I did not cycle without stabilisers until I was 6 It's hard for me to say why I love it so much but I love being outside and exercising and being on the bike! I've got some triathlons lined up this year and a long bike ride with my dad, we are aiming for more than the 359 mile ride we did last year! I love the design and the gears My Dad! | E*T*H*A*N |
L*E*O*N | I've been riding since I was 3, and I've been racing (and riding with SPD pedals) since I was 6! Mud! I love wet dirty cyclocross races! I always do better in bad conditions!? I like the bike sliding around, and the skills required to get to the chequered flag! To win a road race! I got a succession of 4th places and didn't finish out of the top 5 last year! This year, I'm moving up to the under 12's - I was still by far the smallest in the under 10's last year! So it's a big ask, but I'll give it my all! It's agility (his exact words!) It has great handling, especially when riding hard! I can feel every bit of effort put through the pedals going to the back wheel! I love it! Mathieu van der Poel! He makes everything he does look so easy!? Especially riding through deep rutted sand?! How does he do that?! |
Trail Shredders
Our Push the Limits MTB range needed some serious shredders to hit the trails it loves to ride, Cari and Elisha are doing just that! From the mountains of Wales to sessioning local MTB trails and centres in the South these 2 are giving us an insight into what it's like to grow up living and breathing bikes.
C*A*R*I | I came home from school when I was 4 and told my Dad I had taught myself to ride a bike. “Oh, ok” he said and got my sisters bike out then I showed him I could ride! I love the feeling of going fast and when I gets to the end of a trail my whole body is shaking with the adrenaline rush. I love getting to ride exciting places and having fun with my biking friends This year I am planning on doing lots of races. I am going to be in the younger end of my category but I'm hoping to still to make the top three but it’s going to be a challenge It has to be the colour and how it stands out, especially in the dark. It’s fast uphills, I can ride almost anywhere - In the mountains, in the woods, even on pump tracks or just Cycle paths. Plus it’s lots of fun Rachel Atherton. I’ve met her twice, I’ve had a photo with her and I’ve got a signed Trek poster by my bed! |
I cannot remember when I started riding my bike because I have always done it. My Mum said I was two when I had my first pedal bike I love cycling because I get to go to new places and I love practicing all of my skills. I also like meeting lots of new people when I am out on my bikes riding or racing I would like to do an MTB race on my frog. I have qualified to do the BMX World Championships in Houston Texas in May, I am really looking forward to going there I love my frog bike because it is much lighter than my old mountain bike. I love the feel of jumping it and going to all the new MTB places. I also love the colour, it goes with my gloves and goggles! My cycling hero is Maris Strombergs because he won the Olympics and that’s what I would like to do when I’m older. I once met him when he did some coaching at Derby | E*L*I*S*H*A |
